A Motherhood Sunrise Session Overlooking Lake Tahoe, California

We woke up at 4am, drove for what seemed like hours desperately trying to find our model's home. Tensions were high as the sun was coming up and we knew we still had to hike up the mountain to get to our shooting location. If we missed sunrise over the lake it was going to be a huge disappointment for 11 eager and sleep deprived photographers.
We were told it was likely we might run into black bears on the hike up...Thankfully we found the house, briskly hiked up the mountain (oh my goodness, I am so out of shape!) and made it just in time for the sun to peek over the mountains! No bears in sight! It was sooo glorious and worth all the energy and lack of sleep to get there!
Brandi and her daughters were delightful. They were playful, tenderhearted and loving toward each other. It was a joy to capture their connections. As a mama of two girls myself I know what a sweet bond it is between a mother and her daughters. You could tell she was soaking it all up and cherishing the quiet moments of connection. And in such a beautiful setting overlooking the still, serene lake at dawn.
Motherhood sessions are so special and hold a dear place in my heart. I know as a mother myself it’s hard to get in the pictures with your kids on a regular basis. Time seems to fly by and before we know it they are ever changing and growing. It would be such a gift for your children to have precious moments with their mama to look back on, for you also!
